Travel grants for early-career scientists

Deadline: October 31, 2026 (with the closing of the abstract submission)

Notification on travel grants: December 1, 2026

Travel grant:

• Subsidy of travel expenses up to
  • €500 for domestic travel, 
  • €750 for travel within Europe, 
  • €1,200 for international travel outside Europe 
• Registration fees

The travel grant will be paid via reimbursement of the expenses after the conference.

Eligibility:

• Graduate or undergraduate student
• Submission of an abstract to the 2nd Bonn Conference for Mathematical Life Sciences

• Confirmation of abstract submission
• CV
• Personal statement (1 page)
  • Explain the relevance of the conference for your academic work and career
  • Provide a justification for why the grant is necessary for your participation.
• Letter of recommendation

Selection criteria:

1. Scientific merit of the abstract and its relevance to the conference topics
2. Significance of participation for the applicant’s academic advancement
3. Demonstrated need for financial assistance
